A Different Approach
episteme /ˌɛpɪˈstiːmi/
"Scientific knowledge, a system of understanding; specifically the body of ideas which shape the perception of knowledge in a particular time period." You need a multi-dimensional approach that uses different methods and frameworks to arrive at a solution within the feasible region of the STEEP elements. |
advisory
Formal relationships with leadership teams or authorities, organizations, enterprises, and communities which are grounded in specific projects which are designed to deliver value to the enterprise, community, authorities, and society at large within a specific political arena.
These services are designed to work towards specific project oriented goals and objectives, and often involve a combination of strategic, procedural, and technology-based changes and evolution for a defined ecosystem of network partners. We typically work with leaders who are willing to change the status quo. |
thinking partner
Most organizations, authorities, and enterprises have programs for employee development, but neglect their senior leadership teams. We provide personal development support and create customized programs for leadership teams and executive roles who want to grow and develop their skills and competences.
We work closely with organizations such as CEO-Collaborative Forum and others to help senior leaders grow in their roles with peer programs for problem solving and personal growth and development. This goes well beyond business school knowledge, and is rooted in real-life experiences of peers of fast-growing enterprises. |
co-creation sessions
We help leadership teams to converge on their strategies and tactics, as well as their organizational dynamics, to realize their missions and visions.
We conduct specifically designed Accelerated Solution Environments (ASEs), as 1.5 day workshops to scan, focus, and synthesize actions into a work-plan that can be executed right after the session. With the right working team with you, and the right attitude and openness to change, your management team will be able to reach the right conclusions for your business issue within a compressed schedule, |
thought leadership
Cross-industry pollination is necessary today to solve the issues across a connected cross-industry world. This 'boundary-spanning' skill-set is critical in the complexity of the problems and solution set that organizations, enterprises, and authorities are seeking today.
It is no longer relevant to have an 'industry-expert' to design a solution, but a team with multi-dimensional skills to craft an adequate solution or approach for the issue at hand. Thought leadership is not about specific subject matter expertise as it is about being able to identify and marry a problem domain to a solution set from diverse industries, domains, and geographies. |
teaching
Teaching at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) and other leading institutions provides a platform to not only impart domain knowledge and practitioner training but also learn industry contexts, specific situations, and economic trends.
We design specific courses for companies, organizations, and authorities to create specialties of domain knowledge internally and keep them abreast with the latest developments in the arena, in terms of market coverage, customer profile / persona, industry vertical, geographic anchor, and political stance. |
reflection
We help senior leaders reflect on different topics, whether it be some element of their strategy and business model or about a new technology or emergent trend in the marketplace, when it is of relevance to organizations, authorities, enterprises, or communities.
We bring experts together for consultations on different topics and areas, and facilitate reflection sessions with senior leaders. We also bring together senior leaders from different industries who want to share stories and reflections about their own businesses. |
engagement
We help senior leaders of enterprises, organizations, authorities, or communities engage with other stakeholders within their domains to secure buy-in, co-create a progressive roadmap, engage third parties or other participants in their network ecosystem.
Engagement is one of the most effective means of succeeding on an agenda for change and moving away from the status quo. We use different partners and means of engagement to make this happen, including public organizations and private bodies. |
investment
When there is a 'value investing' potential, we also entertain the possibility to invest in the business, so that we may collaborate with the founding team to pivot the business model and grow the business several-fold. We play in the micro-private-equity space, with our current investment portfolio focused on Europe and the United States.
We are generally industry-agnostic, but prefer to play more in the manufacturing and services sector, staying away from more capital-intensive projects that require significant capital investment. We invest in either very early stage (e.g. angel) or post-profit stage (e.g. scaling). |
Board membership
Currently serving on multiple Advisory, Executive, and Financial Boards of companies across Europe, we are engaged at this level with senior leaders who advise and have fiduciary responsibility for private and public companies.
In many cases, at the end of an advisory engagement, the founding team requests us to sit in some capacity on their board, to provide ongoing support and guidance to the executive team or play a mentoring role for a specific senior leader of the founding team, as well as make contribution to the business' long term growth strategy or for a specific pivotal phase of the business. |
